Party Planning in an outdoor setting

Hmmmmm ... party planning, what a headache!

Well, it really needn't be that bad.

An outdoor entertainment area, such as a deck or patio is an ideal setting for a gathering of friends, family, neighbors or work associates. A get together in this setting can be simple and straightforward no matter what the occasion; all it takes is a little creativity and a lot of enthusiasm.

If you need a helping hand, I would like to recommend the party planning experts. They have everything from place mats to swizzle sticks, offer great personalised ideas at very competitive prices! Party Basics. They help get the job done.

Let’s look at some of the basics of party planning success

Planning an outdoor party is wonderful for events such as graduations, weddings, baby or bridal showers, company picnics, reunions or even neighborhood celebrations, particularly over the summer and spring seasons, when the sun is shining and the garden is at its most vibrant. Even if you just want to invite friends and acquaintances over for a barbecue your patio party needn’t be traumatic. Party planning is great fun when you know that the weather is fine and people are keen to get outdoors.

party planning

It's never too early to begin your party planning. You know all year long about key birthdays and other events, so why not take a little time to plan ahead. Too many events are thrown together on a shoe string budget without any real thought given to entertainment, theme, decoration, and food. Paying attention to these key items is the secret to successful entertaining.

Here are a few key suggestions for party planning that will inspire, engage and entertain your guests:

  • Put together a guest list as early as possible,
  • Send out the invitations 2-3 weeks prior the event,
  • Don’t try and take on the world with your party planning – if you need to, delegate some tasks out to others – such as cleaning or catering,
  • Prepare your garden and entertaining area – water and prune the garden, clean the outdoor furniture, sweep the patio and decorate the area with bud candles, citronella torches and incense,
  • Select a theme and color scheme,
  • Set a fixed time – if you don’t want your party to run too late then specify the start and finish times on the invitation,
  • Setup the drinks areas away from the kitchen/food areas – this will ease potential congestion when there are plenty of people milling around and chatting,
  • Ensure that you have the right equipment to keep cold food cold and hot food hot,
  • Have a back up plan if there is terrible weather – be prepared to move inside if you need to, and
  • Relax and enjoy yourself – your guests will relax if they see you doing the same!
  • Nobody likes gate crashers, but sometimes unwelcome guests show up no matter how well you have planned your party, but they dont eat your food they eat your guests! Yes, mosquitoes. So small, but a real pest. If you have problems with mosquitoes this site is exactly what you are looking for Mosquito-Kill-Net at least you'll have one less thing to worry about!

Hosting a great outdoor event doesn’t necessarily mean slogging away all day long in the kitchen. With a little imagination and some intelligent party planning, you’ll do great! Think ahead and prepare as much as you can the day or days before the event. You’ll be surprised at how much time this can save you.

There is something magical about a party under the sun or the stars. Party planning ahead of time will ensure that your next event is remembered by all of your guests. Make sure your patio party will be talked about … do it right.

here's a nice idea about unwanted visitor that you should consider when party planning:

    WHO INVITED THEM?
    By: Scottie Johnson

    Ah, summer!

Time to get outside and enjoy the warm weather. And, what better way than to invite friend over for dinner on your patio?

You’ve thought of everything. Your yard is immaculate; the flowers you have worked so hard to bring to bloom are everywhere. Your new patio furniture looks great and the table is set. A wonderful menu of grilled food is coming up, and your guests begin to arrive. Everyone is looking forward to a fine meal, good company on a warm summer evening.

And then, . . . the guests you didn’t invite arrive too. Mosquitoes!

Don’t let them ruin your plans again. Here are some tips to let you reclaim your backyard.

  • At least two hours before your plan to use the patio, spray the area with a powerful garlic spray. Mosquitoes hate the smell and it will repel them for up to a month. You won’t notice it after about 30 minutes.
  • Light lots of citronella candles and incense sticks. Mosquitoes target their prey and this distorts their navigation systems. And, it can give your patio an exotic ambiance.
  • Be a thoughtful host. Have plenty of natural mosquito repellent on hand. Your guests may not remember to bring some. And that way you are sure you are not offering them harsh chemicals.
  • Use a fan. Mosquitoes are poor flyers, and will stay away from breezy areas. And, it keeps humans cooler anyway.
  • If you are outdoors a lot and have a heavy mosquito population, consider investing in a propane powered mosquito trap. They are the latest mosquito control innovation, and, if used properly, they can actually reduce mosquito populations.
  • Bring home a toad. They are voracious mosquito feeders. They can eat from 50-100 a night.
  • With just a little planning and preparation, you can keep mosquitoes at bay and enjoy your yard again. And then, the only guests who arrive are the human ones you invited.

So, take action and get ready for your next great patio party!
